• SOPA Domestic Internet Site – A domestic site is defined as a site that corresponds to a ‘domestic domain name’, or if there is no domain name, a domestic IP address.¹ A domestic domain name is defined as a domain registered or assigned by a registrar or other authority that is located within the United States.² Some common examples of domestic top-level domain names are ‘.com’, ‘.org’, and ‘.us’.
• SOPA Foreign Internet Site or PROTECT IP Non-domestic domain name – A foreign site is very simply defined as a site that is not a domestic site.^{3 4} Under this definition, any site not using a domestic domain name is a foreign site.

Under these broad definitions, domestically hosted sites such as ‘redd.it’ and ‘bit.ly’ can be defined as foreign internet sites. On the other side of the coin, foreign hosted sites such as wikileaks.org and thepiratebay.org can be defined as ‘domestic’, since their domain names are registered through authorities located in the U.S.”

Basically the bill goes as follows. A website that is promoting or has members that are promoting copyright infringement and are classified as a foreign domain can be subject to takeover or shutdown by the attorney general. Even a domestic domain will be required to remove all comments post etc. From their site. And not just a site, but the entire domain. (As in, all of WordPress instead of each individual site)

Imagine YouTube having to remove every user that has promoted copyrighted material(ie, any popular music they didnt ask the maker to use) from their website? As well as scrubbing every comment and video those people made from the website as well.

Many people think this will freeze social networking websites like YouTube, WordPress, Facebook, and especially Reddit and tumblr, popular social sites that would be practically outlawed by the new bill. Some even say that this is the first step in forcing the freedom of speech from the internet.

I’d like to mention that a Chinese Google search for tiannanmen square will bring you nothing but black lines of what used to be text. This is because the Chinese government is telling all the websites to block access to the events records. If our government can block what we say when we infringe on copyrights, they might just end up able to block anything we infringe on. sound like the first amendment anyone?

the bills are soposed to restrict piracy, but so many pirating sites would have domestic domains (and even more considering they could all jus switch to domestic if the bill is passed), that it would do far more bad than good.

I kinda want to get in on this, but i don’t really know how to actually take the blog offline, (silly me) soooo….

Update: Wendsday, Jan 18, 2012, 4:35 pm. anyone who visits this site today should visit sites like google, wikipedia, and minecraft.net before turning off their computer. Wiki and Minecraft both are shut down completely each with a message about why, (minecraft’s message is simply: PIPA AND SOPA? HOW ABOUT NOPA!) while google’s ever-changing logo is censored in black.

Also, congressional supporters have been abandoning the bill over the past 24 hours, my guess being that they will lose any voters that own a computer if they support it. The proposer of the SOPA bill, Lamar Smith, will still try to go through with it, saying that people are overreacting and that the blackout is an idiotic thing to do, removing their services from their communities for a whole day.

Update #2: still the 18th, now 8:01 The OPEN act (another acronym!) has been proposed that seems to handle all of SOPA and  PIPA’s problems in a much more tech-savvy way. Visit http://keepthewebopen.com/sopa-vs-open to find out more.

I’m sorry i couldnt make them bigger. i’ll have to figure out how to do that. you can see these in full form (not actually full because my scanner is small and wont fit my massive sheets of paper on it) and others on my new deviantart account, ~Coldryanman. peach and seth, ive left comments and favorites on your accounts. or at least i think theyre your accounts. i only have 6 right now, because most of my pencil drawings are too light to show up on my scanner even with brightness and  contrast and highlight and whatnot adjustments, so i need to make them darker.

and well, that’s really it.

So i ment to post this on Nov 20 when the game came out, but i was a little too busy playing it, then i was busy in lots of other days so here we go!!!

While i have yet to come across any particularly awesome characters, i must admit that i like Fi’s design a lot!!! Currently i’m almost to the 5th temple (i’m taking a break right now because the silent realms are a pain in the dairy-aire) and the game is great!!! The graphics are nice and do look watercolor, the plot is very interesting and has some unsuspecting turns (NO SPOILERS IN COMMENTS PLZPLZPLZ I HAVEN’T FINISHED YET!!!), and i’m actually able to go play the game without staring at a walkthrough guide!!! (i’m talking to you link to the past… >:( )

So anyway, besides playing skyward sword, i’ve been working on a project for myself, but next time i post i will state my schedule for the rest of December and the fate of a certain project(s).

Videosayg: Barry (Pokemon Diamond/Pearl)- I decided to make everyone a villain this year, so i went with the closest thing and made cappies the Rival from pokemon Diamond. I wonder what he’ll be next year? (spoilers: Pokemon!)

Bluecreature: Fawful (Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story)- I know that blu doesn’t wear glasses anymore but i really wanted to make someone Fawful and it just worked out that way. He can have fury if he wants to though

Peachsupreme: Priestess Rao (Okami)- I always make someone Zelda themed, Mario themed, and Pokemon themed, so i’m left with one obscure reference. So this year i’m one of my favorite female characters herself, the busty babe!

Sethimine: Byrne (LOZ: Spirit Tracks)- Seth always has some attachment to his hair doesn’t he? I was going to make him Girahim from the upcoming Zelda game, but he gives me the creeps…(get a haircut and some new clothes buddy!)

I’m pretty much done with my play so expect some more posts soon!

Introduction

So basically the series goes like this: Jay, the main character, starts going through all these videos and starts noticing some odd things going on, like alex acting paranoid, sometimes even to the brink of seeming insanity, and for good reason. most videos have nothing to do with marble hornets at all, but rather they are of alex filming himself. here’s why, in entry number 1.

this guy doesnt appear again until entry 4, and then again in #7.  he is based on an internet meme from creepypasta, called slenderman, very tall, with very long arms that seem to change length. he is also sometimes called the operator. when cameras pick up on him, there seems to be a lot of audio and video distortion. he wears a sack on his head, and always is dressed up in a black suit and tie.

Jay begins to investigate, and begins to see some of the same symptoms that alex was having. like alex, jay is now filming himself 24/7, for multiple reasons that i wont reveal for fear of giving away too much, but lets say its so he can show his youtubers. but because he is investigating, he is being followed too. there is also another youtuber, totheark, who is leaving creepy cryptic responses to some of his videos. (warning: the following video is REALLY not suited for the faint at heart.)

Oh, and there’s that guy, too. masky. stalker-ish. I thought about putting in entry number 18, where he appears for the first time, but i think that one is a bit too much for most people. i jumped out of my skin when i saw it. so if you want more, i highly recommend that one. and penultimately, here’s a totheark video(the first, and not as scary as the others)
